«zur Wand» ist ein Schauraum vom unabhängigen, gemeinnützigen Verein wiewaersmalmit.ch an der Andlauerstrasse 2 in 4057 Basel. Der Raum ist ein interdisziplinärer Safe Space für diverse Menschen und offenen Austausch. Wir sprachen mit Michelle Brian, Chris Brian, Isa Lindner und Fran Fischer vom feministischen Künstler*innenkollektiv «Viva la Vulva» aus Zürich.

Wir finden die Themen brauchen mehr Raum. Wer sich nämlich noch nie Gedanken über diese Dinge gemacht hat, könnte jetzt damit anfangen. Gespräche führen, zum Umdenken anregen und die Wichtigkeit aufzeigen für den Support jedes einzelnen Menschen.
We think the topics need more space. Those who have never thought about these things could start now. We want to have conversations, encourage people to rethink and show the importance of supporting every single person.
«Feministisches Vulva Künstler*innenkollektiv» - was ist das? Wann und weshalb habt ihr dies gegründet?
“Feminist Vulva Artists’ Collective” - what is that? When and why did you found it?
Wir sind die Girl Gang deines Vertrauens. Gegründet im Januar 2019, um Tabus zu brechen, Vulven auf eine kunstvolle Art in die Welt zu bringen, damit Austausch und Awarness zu fördern und aufzuzeigen, dass es intersektionalen Feminismus und Body Positivity braucht. Nicht gegeneinander sondern miteinander – und es soll natürlich einfach Spass machen!
We are the girl gang you can trust. Founded in January 2019 to break taboos, to bring vulvas into the world in an artful way, to promote exchange and awarness and to show that intersectional feminism and body positivity are needed. Not against each other but with each other - and of course it should be fun!
Was inspiriert euch?
What inspires you?
Einerseits mit verschiedenen Materialien Dinge zu schaffen sowie die riesige positive Resonanz zu unserem Schaffen auf Instagram und unsere wachsende «Gang Community». Wir finden Inspiration in gemeinsamen Gesprächen, stärken unsere Ideen und unterstützen uns bei Projekten. Wir lernen immer wieder Neues dazu und diskutieren darüber. Die Motivation mit unserem Tun, etwas total Fantastisches und Sinnvolles zu erschaffen, ist omnipräsent. Und natürlich einen Beitrag unserer Einnahmen an Institutionen weiterzugeben, welche für den Support anderer Frauen* einstehen und Sorge tragen.
On the one hand, creating things with different materials, as well as the huge positive response to our work on instagram and our growing “gang community”. We find inspiration in common conversations, strengthen our ideas and support each other in projects. We are always learning new things and discussing them. The motivation with our actions to create something totally fantastic and meaningful is omnipresent. And, of course, to pass on a contribution of our income to institutions that stand up for and care about the support of other women.
Wenn ihr unsere Gegenwart aktiv umgestalten könntet, wie sähe diese aus?
If you could actively transform our present, what would it look like?
Eine für alle*, alle* für eine! Und komplette Auslöschung jeglicher Art von Diskriminierung.
One for all, all for one! And complete eradication of any kind of discrimination.
