«zur Wand» ist ein Schauraum vom unabhängigen, gemeinnützigen Verein wiewaersmalmit.ch an der Andlauerstrasse 2 in 4057 Basel. Der Raum ist ein interdisziplinärer Safe Space für diverse Menschen und offenen Austausch. Wir sprachen mit Sina Gerschwiler, Milena Mayordomo, Maya Olah und Samara Leite Walt von «hiver collective», die den Raum im Mai 2021 für drei Abende bespielen.

Liebe Sina, Milena, Maya und Samara wer seid ihr und weshalb macht ihr als «hiver collective»  bei bei «zur Wand» mit? Dear Sina, Milena, Maya and Samara who are you and why are you participating in “zur Wand” as the “hiver collective”? Hinter «hiver collective» stehen vier Freundinnen: Sina Gerschwiler, Milena Mayordomo, Maya Olah und Samara Leite Walt. Wir haben uns zusammengetan, um bei Kunst- und Kulturprojekten verschiedene Perspektiven und Zugänge auf ein Thema zu bündeln. Wir arbeiten vor allem interdisziplinär und multimedial. Sina kümmert sich um alles Grafische, Maya und Samara machen Arbeit am Text und Milena ist Musikerin. Für unsere Ausstellung bei «zur Wand» beschäftigen wir uns mit dem Thema des Wartens auf morgen. Hier mitzumachen reizte uns vor allen Dingen wegen der maximalen Freiheit, mit der wir den Raum bespielen dürfen. Zudem sagt uns dieser ursprüngliche «Nicht-Ort» als Location zu, der jetzt mit all diesen Projekten mit Leben gefüllt wird. There are four friends behind “hiver collective“: Sina Gerschwiler, Milena Mayordomo, Maya Olah and Samara Leite Walt. We got together to combine different perspectives and approaches to a theme in art and cultural projects. We work primarily in an interdisciplinary and multimedia way. Sina takes care of everything graphic, Maya and Samara do text work and Milena is a musician. For our exhibition at “zur Wand”, we are dealing with the theme of waiting for tomorrow. We were attracted to participate here above all because of the maximum freedom with which we are allowed to play with the space. In addition, we like this original “non-place” as a location, which is now being filled with life with all these projects. Was inspiriert euch? What inspires you? Prosecco, so wie jetzt gerad. The little magic moments of everyday life The work of female & queer friends in the cultural sector. Wenn ihr unsere Gegenwart aktiv umgestalten könntest, wie sähe diese aus? If you could actively reshape our present, what would it look like? Hier braucht es keinen Konjunktiv, da wir dies bereits individuell in verschiedenen Bereichen, auch fernab unserer künstlerischen Aktivitäten tun. So setzen wir uns auch im in unserem Alltag vor allen Dingen gegen die Diskriminierung der LGBTQI* Community und Rassismus ein. Grundsätzlich finden wir aber jede Form von Diskriminierung und Ewig-Gestrigkeit kacke, und versuchen beispielsweise unsere Events so inklusiv wie möglich zu gestalten. There is no need for a subjunctive here, as we are already doing this individually in various areas, even far away from our artistic activities. In our everyday lives, for example, we are committed to combating discrimination against the LGBTQI* community and racism. Basically, however, we find every form of discrimination and eternal strictness to be shit, and try, for example, to make our events as inclusive as possible. Wie wär’s mal mit…?
